9 Signs You’re Not Drinking Enough Water
Every day I drink water without really thinking much about it. It’s natural for me that when I’m thirsty, I fill a glass with tap water. It’s like breathing air. Because ultimately, water is vital for every living creature on the planet.
And we don’t need to tell you that water does a lot of good things for the body, it has many functions. Among other things, it is also good for digestion and nutrition, ideal for keeping our bodies in good condition.
But how many glasses of water should you drink per day?
Well, that depends from person to person. What people often do is drink when they’re thirsty. But by then, they may already be dehydrated. Here are 9 signs that you’re not drinking enough water.
1. The color of your urine
If you notice that your urine has a darker color than normal, yellow or brownish, you should drink water right away.
2. How often you go to the toilet
Do you go to the toilet less than 2 or 3 times? Or every few hours? If so, that can be a sign that you may need to drink more water. Normally, you should go to the toilet about 6 or 7 times a day, depending on how much you drink. If you don’t drink water for a long time, you damage your kidneys. And your kidneys are the organs that cleanse your body.
3. Dry skin
Dry skin can mean that you’re not drinking enough water. Researchers are not in agreement whether it’s the exact explanation for dry skin, but many do believe it has to do with the amount of fat and water in the skin.

4. Feeling hungry
Our body can give the feeling of hunger due to a lack of water. Sometimes, even after you’ve just eaten, you may feel hungry after the meal. This is your body signaling that you need to drink more water.
5. Fatigue
People who don’t drink enough water often feel tired throughout the day. This is because your body “borrows” water from the blood, which reduces oxygen supply in the body.

6. Headache
Headaches can often be a sign that you’re not drinking enough water. To find out if this is really the problem, try moving very quickly to pick something up, or bend over and stand up quickly. Does your headache feel worse? Then you really need to drink more water.
7. Irritability
When your body lacks fluid, you may feel irritable. If this is the case, drink a glass of water and the symptoms should diminish.
8. Constipation
Yes, even our intestines need water to function. If the body doesn’t get enough fluid, it can extract water from the stool, which in turn can cause constipation.
