If you live in Australia, you are fortunate to be able to admire the wild nature and diverse animal species up close. Especially koalas, one of my favorite animals.
Koalas are marsupials, often mistaken for bears. They sleep for days high in the tree branches, eat eucalyptus leaves, and live for about 20 years.
A young Australian was lucky enough to see such a koala up close and even had contact with it, as he gave the koala a leaf to chew on while it was on the back of its mother.
Fortunately, this cute encounter was filmed and posted on YouTube. The video has been viewed over 7 million times, and the look on the young man’s face is priceless when the koala climbs onto his arm.

The young man from Adelaide was out for a walk when he noticed a koala on its mother’s back, drinking water from a stream.
Then the boy took a eucalyptus leaf and gave it to the baby while its mother quenched her thirst. But what the koala did next was completely unexpected.
The little cub climbed off its mother’s back and straight into the arms of the young man. His reaction is just fantastic. Someone on YouTube wrote that it seemed as if the koala had a smile on its face.

“Did anyone else notice the massive smile on the baby koala’s face as it crawled onto that guy’s arm?” the person wrote.
The trust shown by this little animal towards humans is quite surprising, as these remain wild animals.
Perhaps the koalas are no longer afraid of humans after many residents helped the animals during the severe bushfires. Maybe a new kind of trust between humans and animals is developing.
Watch the adorable moment in the video below:
What a beautiful encounter between humans and animals. This young man is lucky to get so close to this beautiful creature.
