Did Meghan Markle’s Kids Inherit Prince Harry’s British Accent? The Royal Reveals All!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s kids, Archie (5) and Lilibet (3), have grown up in California, so it’s expected that they don’t speak with the same British accent as Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children. Nonetheless, they do pick up on some words like their father, Meghan shared on The Drew Barrymore show.

Yes, Archie and Lilibet Occasionally Speak with Their Father’s British Accent

During an interview, Drew asked Meghan if there’s anything specific Archie and Lili do that reminds her of either herself or Harry. Meghan replied, ‘Oh, they still say some words with a British accent, like pronouncing zebra as zeh-bra, among others. These moments when their British accent comes out are quite adorable given they predominantly have an American accent, but some words do sound just like their father, which I find incredibly cute.’

Over time, there have been videos surfacing of Archie speaking with an American accent. Notably, Meghan recently posted an Instagram Story on February 23 featuring one of her children speaking offscreen with an American accent.

Meghan discussed with People in an interview how this phase in Archie and Lili’s lives signifies a new chapter for her. She expressed, ‘As your children reach a certain age – when you’re not just interacting with them as children but more like engaging in your own world again – it’s incredibly joyful. As a woman, mother, and wife, rediscovering yourself at this stage, which was always within you but perhaps couldn’t receive as much focus when your kids were younger, is a wonderful feeling.’
