A tragic incident unfolded for a pregnant mare during a transportation journey.
Every day, animals are transported from breeding facilities to slaughterhouses, from slaughterhouses to stores, and so on.

Yet, when a ferocious storm hit England, a man decided to continue his horse freight journey. Among the cargo was a pregnant mare named Cecilia. Despite the harsh weather conditions, the animal was forced to travel.
Unfortunately, during the turbulent and perilous trip, maintaining balance was challenging for the mare. Consequently, she fell out of the truck and sank into the muddy clay, unnoticed by her owner who carried on driving.
Years of Neglect
Moreover, the mare had endured years of neglect from her owner and lacked the strength to rise from the waterlogged clay.
Eventually, a passerby discovered the distressed animal and alerted authorities.
Fortunately, a group of individuals successfully extricated the mare from the mud.
“She was completely covered in clay, her heart rate was at 100 per minute, and she displayed signs of dehydration and malnutrition,” reported Katie Snalune from the veterinary clinic overseeing her care as highlighted by The Mirror.
Tragic Outcome
Cecilia fought for her life and that of her six-month-old unborn foal.
Despite intensive care, her organs failed, leading to the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her, as recounted by Katie.
Katie emphasized the frequency of such heartrending incidents where animals are heartlessly abandoned. She extends her veterinary services free of charge but underscores the responsibility of others in providing proper animal care.
