Everyone who has a dog knows the joy of their furry friend when they were a small puppy. While we cherish our grown dogs, reminiscing about their puppy days always brings a smile to our faces.
Yet, some dogs, like Ranger, will forever stay small. Ranger, a two-year-old German shepherd, weighs only seven kilos due to a rare condition called ‘hypophyseal dwarfism’. This condition, as reported by The Dodo, causes him to maintain a perpetual puppy-like appearance.
This condition is extremely rare and is commonly found in German shepherds and other wolf-like dogs. Ranger’s limited growth hormones keep him small, endearing him to many as a forever puppy.
Shelby Mayo shared that when they first got Ranger, he suffered from a parasite called coccidia, followed by another parasite, giardia, and a severe neck infection. She noticed early on that Ranger wasn’t growing like other dogs, setting him apart as a unique and cherished companion.
Before receiving his diagnosis, Ranger faced various health issues, including hair loss and dry skin. However, with proper medication, he has significantly improved and now enjoys playing with many friends.
We wish Ranger and his family all the best ahead! Please share to spread awareness. Every dog is unique and deserves respect and care.
