Last month, Doris Day marked her 97th birthday. Today, the Doris Day Animal Foundation shares the somber news of her passing.

In her later years, she devoted herself to animal welfare, serving as a vocal animal lover and campaigner, even hosting a show dedicated to animals. Her passion for animals lives on through the Doris Day Animal Foundation.
As per a statement from the foundation, Day peacefully passed away due to pneumonia complications, surrounded by her loved ones.
