When faced with choices, people often lean towards either being a cat person or a dog person. But, sadly, there are also individuals who do not like animals and may even exhibit cruel behavior towards them.
Some may abandon their pets, possibly because they cannot care for them anymore. Thankfully, there are compassionate individuals who take these animals to shelters for adoption. However, there are also those who heartlessly leave their once-beloved pets on the streets, which is truly heartbreaking.
This unfortunate reality brought tears to my eyes.
Such was the case for Bryant Fritz, who encountered a distressing sight while fishing last Saturday. He spotted a small puppy trapped in a cage, slowly submerging into icy waters.
The black and white puppy was barely afloat in the cold river, with only its head visible, as reported by News-Gazette.
Bryant took immediate action, bravely wading into the water to rescue the helpless animal.
“There is no doubt. This dog had been floating in the water for hours. I immediately pulled him out,” he recounted.
“He was shivering from hypothermia. His eyes were closed, he was so scared.”
He swiftly carried the puppy to his car, turning the heat to its maximum setting. Without hesitation, he rushed to a veterinarian, making a quick stop at home to grab a blanket for the frightened pup.
“I wanted to warm him up as quickly as possible,” the compassionate teacher explained.
The following day, the puppy showed signs of improvement after the ordeal.
Currently under the care of animal welfare services, the dog may soon find a forever home as Bryant expresses his desire to adopt him.
The trauma this dog endured is unimaginable. I can hardly fathom the fear and distress it must have felt.
We commend the heroic actions of this teacher in saving the dog. Wishing them both a bright future together! The teacher’s bond with the dog is truly special – let’s share this story to honor this act of kindness!
