We have some great news for anyone who loves chocolate. It’s not just incredibly addictive and delicious, but according to research, it could also be good for the brain.

Chocolate comes in all shapes, colors, and flavors. There’s something for everyone.

The old saying, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” may be true, but according to new research, there may be another way to stay healthy. And that is by eating chocolate!

In a new study at the University of L’Aquila, in Italy, researchers found that regularly eating chocolate protects the brain from cognitive problems.

“Positive effects”

Chocolate contains a variety of antioxidants and iron. A component in cocoa could have a positive effect in the long term according to research.

Flavanols can help you concentrate better and aid in storing information in your brain. It can also improve memory.

“Regularly eating chocolate or cocoa indeed could have positive effects on the brain,” says author Valentina Socci in a study published in “Frontiers in Nutrition”.

Treat yourself to chocolate

While it’s still a good idea to eat an apple daily, Dr. Jacylin London also demonstrated the benefits of consuming a bit of chocolate every day.

“Eating 25 grams of chocolate per day, or 150 to 200 calories, has numerous benefits,” she says. “No food is a miracle cure, but I’m a big advocate for indulging in chocolate every day.”

What great news! Time to eat even more chocolate from now on, it’s healthy too!
