Two years ago, a sweet kitten arrived at Mexican Mary Lore Barra’s home. It was love at first sight, and Mary decided to adopt the little stray cat, naming him Pixi.
With love and care, the vulnerable kitten grew into the strong and loving cat Pixi is today. However, Mary noticed one day that Pixi seemed to be getting food from elsewhere, as he had grown bigger than expected.
Mary’s suspicions were confirmed when Pixi returned home one day wearing a collar she didn’t recognize.
Two homes
Mary took action by attaching a note to the collar, hoping Pixi’s “other home” would see it.
“I’m Pixi the cat. I think I have two homes, haha!” she wrote on the note, as reported by The Dodo.
Pixi then vanished to his second home and returned with a new note under his collar revealing his other name, Huarache. It appeared that Pixi had been leading a double life, surprising both owners simultaneously.
The note read, “Here he has the name Huarache. It turns out he does indeed have two homes. Greetings!”
Although Pixi was leading a double life, Mary was understanding and appreciative that he was well cared for in both homes.
Mary even informed Pixi’s second family of his vet updates, ensuring he was healthy and well taken care of.
Cats are smarter animals than we think! Who wouldn’t want to have two homes with a double dose of love and food?
