Father Ray Kelly resides in Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland, overseeing the parishes of St. Brigids and St. Marys. Besides his pastoral duties, he harbors a deep passion for music and enjoys singing with his church community.
Little did he know that a video he recorded would pave his way to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
As Father Ray Kelly stepped onto the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ stage, he defied the typical contestant image. Despite his older age and demeanor contrasting the usual young aspiring pop singers, his presence with the microphone was intriguing.
From the instant Father Kelly disclosed his choice to perform “Everybody Hurts” by REM, his rendition moved many to tears, from the first utterance to the final note.
