In Ukraine, a dog was adopted in June after living on the streets for a long time.
One day, a woman visited an animal shelter and decided to adopt a dog.
But then the dog recognized the woman, leading to an emotional reunion that brought everyone to tears.
When the dog was rescued from the streets, he was in a terrible condition. Despite his striking blue eyes, the dog was infested with fleas and mange and was severely underweight. The animal shelter took him in immediately, providing care, food, and love.
Already had a home
The shelter shared a photo of the dog on Facebook, which quickly spread across the internet. The dog’s captivating blue eyes captured the hearts of many.
Within two days, a woman saw the post and noticed that the dog resembled her own, who had been stolen from her home in 2017.
Dog stolen
Sadly, someone had entered her backyard and taken her dog, leaving her heartbroken. Despite the loss, she never gave up hope of finding her beloved pet.
“For two years, she never stopped searching for her dog,” shared Galina Lekunova with The Dodo.
Breaking into tears
The following day, the woman went to the shelter to meet the dog she had seen online. As she approached him, the dog’s tail wagged furiously, and he leaped into her arms. Overwhelmed with emotion, the woman couldn’t hold back her tears.
It was a clear and heartwarming reunion with her long-lost dog.
“What an incredible Monday! Tears of happiness this morning! The owners had been tirelessly searching for their beloved dog throughout those two difficult years, posting flyers, and more. And here he is, a true miracle! Thanks for sharing the post! A family friend in Australia spotted the dog! I contacted the owners, and they rushed to retrieve their dog,” the animal shelter posted on Facebook about their dog, Lord.
