Eating Caution: The Tragic Consequences of Consuming Raw Food

Eating is a pleasure, I think we can all agree on that. But you have to be careful about what you sometimes put inside your body, especially when it comes to raw food.

Jeanette LeBlanc, a woman from Louisiana, ate one of her favorite dishes, and it led to her death.

The 55-year-old Jeanette LeBlanc was eating on the coast of Louisiana with her friends and family sometime in September last year when she contracted the bacteria, as reported by CBS News.

According to her friend Karen Bowers, Jeanette ate two dozen oysters that day. After her meal, she began to feel unwell.

At first, Karen thought it was some sort of allergic reaction.

But the woman continued to feel worse, and a few days later, she had to go to the hospital. There, the doctors discovered that she had contracted vibrio, a flesh-eating bacteria.

According to the doctors, a person can become infected with this bacteria after eating raw or undercooked food.

Jeanette LeBlanc fought against the bacteria in the hospital for 21 days, but she ultimately passed away on October 15, 2017.

What the doctors discovered was shocking. The oysters that Jeanette had eaten contained a flesh-eating bacteria that started to consume her body from the inside.

Now, the family and friends are raising money for a campaign to raise awareness about the risks of the deadly bacteria. If they had known earlier, Jeanette would still be alive.

This is shocking. It’s tragic how a fun family day turned into a tragedy. But we can help Jeanette’s family and friends in their mission to raise awareness about this bacteria.

Please help us by sharing this warning, by sharing this article on Facebook. If we can warn others about the dangers of raw food, then Jeanette’s death will not have been in vain.
