Lucy Parke’s Struggle with Progeria

There are millions of people who would give anything to be able to live their lives to the fullest. Unfortunately, many people are born with disabilities that make it impossible for them to do so.
Lucy Parke was one of them. The energetic, brave 8-year-old died earlier this month after suffering from Hutchinson-Gilfords syndrome, most commonly known as Progeria. She was diagnosed shortly after her birth in 2009.
Lucy Parke passed away on New Year’s Eve, surrounded by her family at her home in Northern Ireland, as reported by The Daily Mail. Her parents, Stephanie and David, were completely devastated by the loss.
“We have lost our dear Lucy. Her body was weak, but her heart was strong. Her love for life and beautiful smile made us proud,” the family shared with Belfast Live.
