Diabetes is a common disease that can have drastic and life-threatening consequences if you refuse to adapt your life and habits.
1. Frequent urination
One of the most common symptoms of diabetes is frequent urination.
Since the body wants to remove excess sugars from the blood, the kidneys have to work hard. If the kidneys are overloaded, the body literally wants to expel all the sugar through urine.

2. Blurry vision
Since diabetes dehydrates you, as a diabetic, you lose a lot of fluid, including the fluid from your eyes. When the lenses in your eyes are dry, your vision becomes worse and worse, and unless you do something about it, you may even lose your vision completely.
3. You easily get infections, and they take longer to heal.
Because your body works hard to eliminate excess sugars, less energy is spent on healing wounds and infections. Skin infections or irritation between the legs are common when you have diabetes.
4. Extreme hunger
In the early stages of diabetes, it is common for the person to feel extremely hungry. This is because the person doesn’t know how to control their blood sugar levels. Your appetite can, therefore, be like a rollercoaster.

5. You are very thirsty
If you are constantly thirsty, or have trouble quenching your thirst, this could be a sign of diabetes.
The more you drink, the more you will need to urinate. If this constant thirst persists, it may mean that it is not a temporary problem. It can be a signal of extreme dehydration.
6. Unexplained weight loss
When the body works hard and eliminates a lot of fluids from the body, this often results in weight loss. If this happens without any clear reason, it could be a sign of diabetes.
7. You feel extremely tired and exhausted
Regular fatigue and exhaustion despite a good night’s rest are common in diabetics. This is because blood sugar levels are not balanced.
8. Tingling or numbness in hands and feet
If you have a tingling or numb feeling in your feet, arms, and hands, you should definitely check if you have diabetes.
However, it is quite possible to have diabetes without these symptoms, as only 60 to 70% of diabetics experience them.
9. Breath smells like nail polish remover
Diabetes affects your breath, another sign of diabetics. Your breath may smell like a chemical-like odor. Ask someone to smell your breath if you suspect you have diabetes.
