While strolling by the water, a couple noticed a large fluffy ball on a boat marker.
Upon closer inspection, they discovered it was an animal in distress, prompting them to seek help immediately.
Recently, a couple in South Australia took a leisurely walk on Kangaroo Island.
They were enjoying the fresh sea air and the beauty of nature with their dog.
Unexpectedly, they spotted a fluffy figure stuck on a boat marker in the water.
Realizing it was a koala in need, they wasted no time in contacting the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Network for assistance.
βShe was very wet!β said Katie Welz, director of the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Networks, as a wildlife rescuer quickly came, carefully navigated the area, rescued the koala, and brought her to safety.
Was not just one animal, but two
The rescued koala showed her appreciation once she was safely ashore. However, upon closer inspection, Katie noticed something moving on the koala’s belly.
βWhen my husband brought her closer for transfer, I noticed a wiggling lump in her pouch,β shared Katie Welz with The Dodo.
It turned out that it wasn’t just one life saved, but two. The koala was carrying a joey in her pouch.
βWe were delighted and felt fortunate to have found them,β Welz expressed.
Katie Welz then took the koala family to a nearby rehabilitation center before releasing them back into the wild. The duo was thrilled to be back in their natural habitat.
