Most people have various preferences when looking for a house. While some prioritize specific features like the number of bedrooms, others focus on a big backyard or a spacious garage.
However, there are certain things that nobody desires in or near their new home.
Amber Hall thought she had found her perfect first home in Centennial, Colorado, a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house, after weeks of searching. She imagined her two kids and two dogs enjoying the backyard, pleased with the location, but little did she know that the house already had occupants of a rather unexpected kind.
After purchasing the house, while unpacking, one of Hall’s dogs started behaving strangely, setting off alarms in her mind. She noticed snakes slithering up the wall from two little holes near the floor.

Amber, alarmed, found warmth higher up the wall, indicating more snakes lurking there.
“Shockingly big,” she described the snakes.
She expressed her fear, “It’s like crawling into bed and feeling something brush against your foot, only to immediately jump out of bed in fear.”
Amber found the first snake over a week ago, and a total of 10 snakes have been discovered since. She sought the help of a snake catcher who removed the snakes from the house, estimating that some had been there for up to two years based on their size.
Expressing her distress, Amber said, “It’s tough. I’m 42 years old, and this is my first house. I’ve worked hard for it but can’t fully enjoy it. My kids are also scared.”
Amber has spent around $1,000 so far to rid her home of the unwanted guests, indicating she won’t feel at ease until the walls are opened to locate the snakes.
