Valentine, a dog who had been used for breeding, found a new beginning when she was adopted by Ashley and her fiancé. When they first met, Valentine was extremely shy and reserved.
“She was very timid during our initial encounter. It was hard to gauge her personality as she seemed closed off. You could sense the sadness in her eyes, reflecting a broken spirit,” shared Ashley Moses, Valentine’s owner, with insights from The Dodo.
Upon seeing a photo of Valentine, a charming Dalmatian and pitbull mix, Ashley knew instantly that this dog was meant to be part of their family.
However, when Valentine was about to step into her new abode for the first time, things took an unexpected turn. Overwhelmed by insecurity, Valentine hesitated to come inside and instead sought refuge outdoors.
“She was clearly afraid, but we enticed her with treats to come indoors. Throughout the evening, she remained reserved, melancholic, and hesitant to engage with us,” recounted Ashley, who captured the emotional journey on video.
The video documenting Valentine’s touching moments has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on the popular social media platform TikTok.
The following morning, the entire family welcomed their newest furry member, and Valentine’s demeanor transformed. Brimming with joy, she showered her new family with affection, solidifying the feeling that she had finally found her forever home.
