Tragic Online Fad Claims 11-Year-Old’s Life: Family Issues Warning about Deadly Gadget

The family is grieving the loss of an 11-year-old boy who tragically passed away due to a dangerous trend circulating on social media.

The family aims to caution others and advise parents to have conversations with their children to prevent similar tragedies.

An alarming trend on TikTok led to the death of 11-year-old Tommie-Lee Billington from Lancaster, England.

This incident follows the deaths of two teenage girls who also engaged in the same ‘challenge’ on the app, as reported by The Sun.

It all unfolded when Tommie, staying over at a friend’s house on a Saturday, decided to take part in a challenge he saw on TikTok.

The boys were “polished” after being influenced by a challenge on the TikTok platform.

This dangerous trend involves inhaling harmful gases or solvents like dry shampoo, spray deodorant, or glue, leading to poisoning.

After engaging in the trend on TikTok, Tommie and his friend experienced a tragic consequence as Tommie’s heart stopped abruptly, resulting in his instant passing as confirmed by medical professionals.

The family is now mourning the devastating loss of the 11-year-old.

Encourage others to talk to their children

His mother Sherry is urging parents to prevent their children from using TikTok.

“As much as I hate to speak about it, I must pay attention to the dangerous experimentation kids are engaging in nowadays! I urge you, please, keep all deodorants away from your children as this is what tragically took my son’s life when he tried something that other kids were doing,” she expressed on her Facebook page.

“Please have conversations with your kids about the repercussions of such actions.”

Additionally, his grandmother, Tina Burns, shared her profound sorrow.

“I’ve never experienced such anguish. My whirlwind. I adore you immensely, my buddy. My little man. You’ll forever remain in my heart. I’m committed to ensuring that your name and lovely face will serve as a reminder for saving other children’s lives and spare other families from enduring this profound pain,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Rest in peace, Tommie. Our hearts are with the family during this painful time.

Let’s work together to share this crucial message so that no other children are tempted to try this life-threatening trend!
