Transformations after a grooming session can be astounding, especially for dogs. Their thick fur requires regular care to maintain cleanliness and good health. Sadly, many dogs suffer from tangled and dirty coats.
Take the case of a pregnant British dog rescued from an illegal breeder, in a distressing condition. Fortunately, dedicated rescuers provided her with a much-needed “makeover,” giving her a fresh start.
Hope Rescue, an animal welfare organization, shared on a Facebook post, that 27 dogs were rescued from atrocious conditions, with many being pregnant.
Sara Rosser, involved in the rescue mission, described the dogs’ state as appalling, with severely matted fur obstructing their vision and movement, as mentioned in an article by Express.
Among the rescued dogs, Custard Cream, a Bichon Frisé, was one of the most severely affected, laden with matted fur and expecting puppies.
Hope Rescue expressed how heartbreaking it was to see Custard Cream’s distressing state while pregnant and highlighted the risks her matted fur posed during childbirth.
The charity emphasized the urgency of addressing her matting issue to avoid complications during delivery, which could endanger both her and the litter’s lives.
Following a cesarean section, Custard Cream successfully delivered her puppy, Garibaldi, looking completely transformed in the post-delivery photos.
Other rescued dogs also gave birth, bringing the total to 45, presenting a significant challenge for the rescue organization, with veterinary bills amounting to approximately 18,000 euros. Hope Rescue appealed for donations to assist these dogs.
The foundation’s primary goal is to ensure that the rescued breeding dogs and their offspring enjoy safe, healthy, and joyful lives, with plans to find them suitable homes post receiving necessary medical care.
The neglect of dogs by heartless breeders is truly tragic. We are delighted that these dogs are now safe, and Custard Cream and her puppy have undergone an incredible transformation. ❤️
