Man takes on haters with perfect response to dating a 115kg woman
When we share our lives on the internet, we often expose it to criticism. This young couple, who simply enjoy sharing photos with each other, received criticism from people because of their relationship.
However, their response to the criticism is brilliant and a strong reminder of the importance of standing by your beliefs.
The story of Matt and Brittany Montgomery is a very ordinary one, yet beautiful. The couple met, fell in love, and then began their life together.
It might sound like a common scenario, but the couple has a unique element in their story; their difference in size. Brittany has struggled her whole life to find acceptance. She did not have the safest relationship with her parents who were often controlling, and her interactions with them often left her feeling drained.
All of this led to her having little confidence in herself and her body. Being so big, she often encountered two types of men: men who wanted her to lose weight, or men who fetishized her curves. These bad experiences led her to want to completely give up on dating and shut herself off from the possibility of love.
But fate had something else in store for her! In August 2020, her path crossed with Matt Montgomery on Facebook. Despite a significant difference in their physical build, their souls were connected on a level like never before!
Brittany recalls: “I was a bit apprehensive at first. I’ve had relationships where men told me they would dump me if I didn’t diet or try to lose weight. It affected my self-confidence and at one point I started exercising and trying to change my size.” But the two were certain of each other and deeply in love. Matt proposed to me on January 30, 2022, and the couple began planning their life together.
While they fully accept each other, they shared how the world judges their relationship. Matt shared: “People comment on Instagram and suggest that I’m not big enough or man enough for her.” He added: “I do notice people staring when we walk down the street…”
Despite all the criticism they receive about their relationship from people who don’t understand their deep bond, the couple has nothing but love for each other.
Matt has had bad experiences in the past with women of conventional sizes. How Brittany makes him feel is what inspired Matt to realize that she truly is his soulmate. He accepts her as she is and focuses on making her happy. He is not shy to publicly express his appreciation for her, in a post for her he wrote: “You are worthy, you deserve to receive infinite love every single day and more. The way I look at you and feel for you, and the way you look at me and feel for me, is how I know we are meant for each other.”
His caption shows people leaving rude comments on the couple’s photos that he loves his wife and they have a connection that goes far beyond the physical. What a solid response to the haters!
The couple aims to break the stigma behind ‘mixed’ relationships. “I wish mixed weight relationships were more common and more the norm,” she said.
The young couple welcomed their child Lakelyn in March 2022 and announced last month that they are expecting their second child together in September 2023. We wish them all the best!
Truly, there are no fixed parameters when it comes to finding true love and what makes someone happy. We all must accept and love each other, no matter what!
