Chalamet received nominations for two films: A Complete Unknown and Dune: Part Two. His portrayal of Bob Dylan in the former biopic earned him a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. The entire cast of A Complete Unknown was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Additionally, Dune: Part Two snagged a nomination for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
Insights from Timothée Chalamet on His Film Preparation
Recently, Chalamet shared with W Magazine how his preparation to embody Dylan commenced during the filming of Dune: Part Two. ‘I was learning guitar on the fictional planet of Arrakis [from Dune],’ he revealed.
‘Initially, I felt pressed for time, but with delays caused by the Covid lockdown and subsequent actors and writers strikes, I started to believe the project was doomed. Yet, the five-year journey to assemble the cast and complete the film turned out to be serendipitous. For an American actor embodying an American icon like Bob Dylan, the pressure was immense. The expectations were high, and I was determined to meet them.’
