Parents Hide Baby from Stares – Now 2-Year-Old Girl is ‘Picture-Perfect’

Parents will do anything for their children, especially to protect them. These parents were no different. Keep reading to find out more about what these parents did for their daughter.
Celine Casey gave birth to little Vienna Brookshaw in April 2021. When Casey first saw her daughter, she feared that something had gone wrong during her pregnancy. After all, her daughter had a large birthmark on her forehead at eyebrow level.
The birthmark didn’t pose any health risks to the girl. However, her mother was aware that it could potentially exert mental pressure on the little girl in the future.
Brookshaw is one of the 20,000 babies born with a congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN). This means she was born with a cluster of benign pigment cells between her eyebrows that would also grow as she got older.

Rare, harmless condition
The condition is rare, and no one could predict how much the birthmark would grow as the little girl grew older. Her mother knew she didn’t want her daughter to experience that while growing up.
Casey immediately asked the doctors what could be done. She felt that if she didn’t have her daughter’s birthmark removed, the little one might develop resentment towards her parents in the future.
The concerned mother said: “We love watching her grow and can’t wait for the day she’s older and can speak for herself, so we can hear her opinion. We love her anyway, even if she keeps the birthmark.”

Casey and her partner noticed that when their daughter was still a baby, people would stare at her. She also saw that her baby was treated differently from other babies, which motivated her even more to have the birthmark removed.
Operation rejected
The NHS rejected the operation, and the mother had to seek alternative resources. That’s why she started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for privately performing the operation.
The NHS denied the operation because they normally refuse all surgeries that are not essential for a person’s physical health. They deemed the cosmetic procedure non-essential.
Within just 24 hours, the parents had raised $52,000 for the operation. Unfortunately, this amount was not enough because hospital costs had skyrocketed after the COVID-19 pandemic.

They turned to GoFundMe again to help with the additional costs for their daughter’s birthmark removal surgery.
“Everybody has things they’re insecure about on their body, and the doctor said he’d respect that, but with Vienna, it wasn’t going to affect her mental health right now. But we didn’t see it as that, she’s going to start school when she’s three, and younger kids are so smart, they point out stuff like that,” the worried mother reasoned.
Now that the little girl is two years old, her birthmark has been completely removed; the only evidence of it is a small scar on her forehead. Her mother Casey regularly updates on her daughter’s healing process and comments on how ‘beautiful’ her daughter is.

After the birthmark was removed, the couple traveled back to London so the surgeon could see how well the scar had healed. Their concern was whether Vienna would need more surgeries or procedures after the three operations she had already undergone. But for now, she’s a healthy two-year-old and doesn’t require any further attention!
We send all our best wishes to little Vienna. We hope the little girl always remains in good health! Share this with others so they are also aware of her story!
