Anil Prabhakar, an Indonesian nature photographer, was deeply moved by the challenges orangutans face due to habitat loss and poaching.

The Dodo reports that during a tour with the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation in 2019, Prabhakar witnessed an orangutan’s act of kindness towards a man stuck in mud.

Despite the noble intentions, the man declined the orangutan’s help, as interfering could harm the animal and go against his duty to protect wildlife.
