Sometimes, when you notice an animal in distress that requires rescue, you instinctively feel a connection with them.
That’s exactly how Nick Abbott felt when he stumbled upon a Facebook post seeking a loving home for a charming black Labrador named Emerson.
“I was immediately drawn to him because we had similarities,” shared Abbott, 31, with CBS News. “I felt like I understood him.”
Rescued at just six weeks old from a shelter in Florida, Emerson was then relocated to NFR Maine, another shelter dedicated to animals in need.
