Every animal is beautiful in its own way, even those born a little different. But sometimes it’s the things that make us “weird” that make us so special.
Like this cat, who was born with four ears. But now that she’s found a loving home, she’s spreading joy on the internet.
This is Midas:
Midas was born with an extra set of ears, apparently due to a genetic mutation. But that didn’t stop her from living her best life.
And the unique cat has since been adopted! According to his Instagram, she found his “forever home” last month and he is loving his new family.
Cemre Polat, from Turkey, is Midas’s owner. She doesn’t know if he can actually hear through the extra, smaller ears, but they are not painful. She says Midas does not have hearing problems.
“He behaves like a normal kitten,” she told UOL.
On Midas’s Instagram page, it’s clear that he has a pretty normal life for a cat. He likes to hang out at home and play with his dog “sisters.”
The photos also track how much she has grown in recent weeks: in a recent photo, it says she is “1820 grams of mischief.”
This unique cat now has more than 12.5 followers on Instagram.
The owner told 9GAG that she hopes Midas’s popularity will inspire people to think differently about “unique” animals like him: there are many animals with physical differences in shelters who just want to be loved.
While a cat born with four ears is unusual, it’s not unheard of: other cats like Midas have made headlines in recent years, including Yoda, who went viral in 2008, and Batman, who found a home in 2016.
