Recently, a heartwarming story unfolded when a veteran missing a leg adopted a special rescue dog named Kane, also an amputee. Kane, a stray German Shepherd, had his right leg amputated after a car accident left him severely injured.
Despite the loss of his leg, Kane’s spirit remained strong. NBC Los Angeles reported that Kane, now a three-legged dog, moves around “as if he has all four legs.”
Although handicapped dogs like Kane can often be overlooked for adoption due to their special needs, fate intervened when Dane Orozco visited the shelter in search of a new companion and instantly connected with Kane.
