Shocking Note: Agent Insulted While Grabbing a Bite After Tough Day at Baby’s Death Scene

Most of us go to work with a clear idea of what to expect that day. However, for jobs like that of police officers, the uncertainty is great. They never know what awaits them.

An officer received a call for the death of a baby and spent 7 hours at the scene. After the long, exhausting day, the officer stopped to eat a sandwich. When he returned to his patrol car, there was a note between the windshield wipers.

An unknown person had written a note stating, “100 euro fine for eating during duty”.

The officer responded on his social media with this:

“We are not robots.”

The tweet from the officer in question was flooded with responses. A whopping 80,000 people found the note anything but respectful.
The officer, who has been serving the community for 15 years, wrote:
“Just back from a sandwich shop. There was a handwritten note on the window of my patrol vehicle. “100 euro fine for eating during duty.” I wish I could tell that person I’ve just spent 7 hours at a crime scene where a baby has died. I ate a sandwich. We are not robots.”

Thousands of people expressed their support for the officer in question.
“Maybe the person who wrote the note will see this on Twitter and feel ashamed,” wrote someone.
“No one knows the mentally taxing, traumatizing job our emergency services do daily,” wrote another.
Others thanked the officer for his service, but there were also those who were less forgiving. Well, some people just lack empathy.

“Faith in humanity restored”

The officer thanked people for their kind words and wrote that he was blown away by the responses to his tweet.
“It’s hard to see sometimes, because most days we deal with the toughest issues in society. But the good people still outweigh the bad, based on the responses I’ve received. My faith in humanity is restored. Thank you.”
People who are on the front lines during tough incidents deserve to be treated with respect.
