When Jose Velazquez didn’t return home after a night out with friends, a large-scale search operation began.
As days passed, the chances of finding Jose alive dwindled.
The 32-year-old from Houston had been out drinking with his friends and fiancée Chanel Nelson.
The following day, Jose’s family contacted Chanel in a panic as he hadn’t shown up for work and was unaccounted for, as reported by KTRK.
A search ensued, but with each passing day, worry escalated.
Just when hope seemed lost, volunteers discovered a wrecked car near a highway.
With a mix of shock and relief finding Jose’s car, they soon realized he wasn’t inside but laying close to the vehicle.
Thrown from his car during the crash, Jose had managed to crawl near the driver’s side door.
‘Believing in Miracles’
Despite sustaining broken ribs and a collapsed lung, Jose survived for five days without sustenance, leaving everyone astonished, including the doctors.
Tim Miller, a search helper, expressed, “I don’t know how he managed this, let alone surviving 5 days with injuries… But that’s why we assist. We believe in miracles, and this was one of them.”
“It’s a miracle he’s alive.”

The fact that Jose survived this ordeal is a miracle, and we are relieved he could be reunited with his family. After being rescued, he requested some fruit juice and a good meal, which undoubtedly tasted delicious.
