Austin McGee, an American hiker, was taken by surprise when he felt a sudden bite while hiking in the woods.
What followed was an unforgettable experience for him as an experienced hiker facing an unexpected animal attack.
When embarking on a hike, one expects safety, much like Austin did while exploring a forest in Tennessee.
As he emerged from the forest after a pleasant day of hiking, a sharp pain in his finger caught him off guard.
However, the incident unfolded so rapidly that he was unaware of what creature had bitten him.
“I thought it was a beetle or something because I didn’t hear anything,” he recounted to Fox17.

Global Attention
With each passing day, Austin’s finger swelled twofold, and images of his condition circulated worldwide, leaving many in disbelief.
The culprit behind the excruciating bite turned out to be a rattlesnake.
“I never could have imagined that a rattlesnake bite could lead to such extensive damage,” expressed Austin.

Medical Intervention
To restore normalcy to the man’s finger, doctors were compelled to drain the substantial blister, albeit causing excruciating pain.
Despite the agony, the medical team successfully treated the finger without the need for amputation.
Since then, the man has fully recovered and aims to caution others.
“Exercise caution wherever you go and avoid picking up anything from the ground,” he advises.
