It’s always distressing when a dog goes missing, but there’s always hope for their safe return.
This proved true for a frightened dog who recently went missing only to return home in a comical and surprising manner.
Mary Lynn, from Greensville, South Carolina, is the proud owner of Rajah, her beloved dog.

Like many dogs, Rajah is scared of fireworks, which led to a frightening incident when the sound of fireworks caused her to run away.
“She was in the backyard with our other dog, and when our neighbor started setting off fireworks, I knew she would be terrified,” Mary shared with SWNS. “I went to the backyard, and she was gone.”
Throughout the night, Mary and her husband Ryan tirelessly searched the neighborhood, reached out to shelters, and posted on social media in hopes of finding their missing pup.
Hours went by with no luck. However, at 3 a.m., they were startled by the doorbell ringing… and there stood Rajah!

Rajah had been on an adventure for over 7 hours, but the smart pup not only made her way back home but also astonishingly knew how to ring the doorbell!
“I didn’t even know she knew how to do that; I never taught her,” Mary expressed.
“She hardly ever goes out to the front yard, except to get in the car, so she had never seen us ring the bell.”

Fortunately, Ryan was awake and able to open the door to welcome her back. While it’s unknown what Rajah encountered during her time away, Mary believes she had quite the escapade.
“She had thorns stuck to her and appeared to have rolled in something unpleasant,” Mary mentioned to SWNS. “It seems like she had a blast.”
The couple was ecstatic to have her back. The video of the ingenious dog ringing the doorbell, captured on their Ring camera, has since gone viral after they shared it on Reddit.
We’re thrilled to have Rajah home! What a clever dog she is to calmly ring the doorbell!
