The Shocking Reality of Nursing Home Neglect Exposed by Priest – Esther (80) Gasping for Air with Head Buried in Pillow

Placing our parents in a nursing home is often a difficult decision made out of necessity when they require more care than we can provide at home.

We all wish to age in our own homes independently, but sometimes the care provided in a nursing facility becomes essential.

It is natural to expect that the staff at these facilities will treat our loved ones with the same care and compassion as they would their own family members.

When James Brown visited his 80-year-old mother, Esther, at her nursing home in Ohio, he encountered a distressing scene.

Accompanied by family friend and priestess Julia Wiggins, James discovered Esther sitting in a wheelchair with her face buried in a pillow, struggling to breathe and unable to lift her head.

Staff took 10 minutes to respond

Julia Wiggins, the priest, described finding Esther in a wheelchair in the facility’s living room. Initially, she didn’t recognize her, but soon realized the gravity of the situation.

“Initially, I didn’t notice anything, but later I saw Mother Esther Brown seated in a wheelchair, her face buried in a pillow, struggling to breathe and choking on saliva,” she revealed to Daily Mail.

James, visibly distressed, identified his mother and rushed to assist her.

Despite calling for help, it took staff a minimum of 10 minutes to arrive. Julia documented Esther’s condition through photographs as evidence of the neglect.

Out of concern, James stayed by his mother’s side throughout the night and later filed a formal complaint.

However, the investigation into the complaint was closed due to insufficient evidence, according to Daily Mail.

Julia shared the distressing images of Esther on Facebook, accompanied by a detailed account of their discovery.

The post quickly went viral, being shared over 150,000 times and eliciting shocked reactions from 62,000 individuals.
