Soldier saves puppy in war zone – reunited with his buddy 10,000 km away months later

Being deployed to a war zone is a serious matter, even if you are a well-prepared soldier ready for whatever may happen. The stress that comes with the constant pressure and fear of war is not to be underestimated, even for the toughest individuals.

Orphaned Stray Puppy

American soldier Tyler, a well-prepared military specialist deployed to Syria, faced what he describes as the most challenging time of his life. However, amidst the difficulties, a valuable bond was formed.

During his time there, he encountered Daisy, an orphaned stray puppy discovered by a colleague on the street, wandering alone with her deceased sibling nearby.

Tyler explained to USA Today that without human intervention, the thin and weak dogs in the area would not survive, stating, “All the dogs there are so extremely thin, at the slightest hint they keel over.”

Loving Care

When informed that Daisy couldn’t stay unless someone cared for her, Tyler volunteered immediately. He dedicated his time after duty to nurturing Daisy, providing food from his pocket and even arranging for supplies from the United States. Daisy became a comforting presence, offering a much-needed distraction from the stress of his mission.

Reunion 10000 Kilometers Away

Over time, a strong bond formed between Tyler and Daisy. Through a coordinated effort supporting animals in distress, Daisy made her way from Syria through Iraq and Germany to New York, where Tyler eagerly awaited her arrival after several months.
