Sometimes animals get stuck in places they shouldn’t be, and they need a little human help to get them to safety.
It’s heartwarming to witness people going out of their way to assist animals in need. Recently, a tram driver in Turkey, Serhat Topal, halted his tram to save a turtle’s life.
Serhat, on his regular route, noticed a turtle in distress on the tracks, attempting to cross to the countryside but stuck in the process.
Describing the situation to The Dodo, Serhat said, “It was a turtle trying to cross the tracks to the countryside, but it was stuck. I think it was scared.”

In a remarkable act of kindness, Serhat stopped the tram, got off, and rescued the stranded turtle.
He swiftly picked up the turtle to prevent any harm from oncoming trams, lifting it over the fence to safety.
After reaching the other side, the turtle appeared healthy and happily walked away, thanks to Serhat’s intervention.

While some passengers may not appreciate unexpected delays on their tram or train journeys, Turkey is known for its citizens’ affection for stray animals. When Serhat explained the situation, the passengers understood and were pleased by his compassionate act.
Expressing his belief that all living beings are friends and should be treated with love, Serhat stated, “Everyone should consider this their duty. I just did my duty.”
Thanks to this compassionate Samaritan for going out of his way to help this turtle! Let’s all remember our duty to care for our friends in nature.
