Jailson Almeida, the owner of a funeral home in Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil, witnessed a profoundly moving moment.
Luzinete Lopez Diniz tragically passed away from a sudden heart attack, shocking her family.
Among those present was Luzinete’s loyal dog, Toy.
Toy had been with Luzinete since he was a puppy, accompanying her everywhere – to church, to the store, and within the family circle. Their bond was well-known to all.
When Toy appeared at the funeral, it was no surprise. However, his reaction upon seeing the casket was heart-wrenching for everyone present.
Let no one approach
Sitting next to the casket, the dog prevented anyone else from coming near.
“He stopped at the casket and cried and scratched at it,” shared Jailson with Animalesqueridos.
It was as if the dog understood the finality of the moment, shedding tears of love and desperation, seeking a response.
“He came to her as a little puppy, and she treated him like her own son,” Jailson explained.
The dog’s poignant reaction deeply impacted Jailson, leading him to share the incident on social media.
“What struck me most was the dog’s despair. It seemed as if he understood that his owner was dead, he cried like a man losing his loved ones, he did not want anyone to approach the casket,” he wrote on Facebook.
Dona Luzinete was laid to rest in the city’s cemetery, with her loved ones, friends, and Toy bidding her a forever sad farewell.
