When a person becomes a parent, life revolves around the child. A parent wants to ensure that they are always there to do everything for their child.

But sometimes life has other plans that we never see coming…
Shannon Sime and Scott Sime had a fairytale love story. The two started as good friends who realized they had feelings for each other. After that, Shannon flew from the UK to move to the Gold Coast, Australia, so they could be together.
Shannon was a wonderfully spirited person. At Christmas, she participated in food drives for the homeless and routinely cut her hair for domestic violence victims to help them regain their self-confidence.
“Shannon is the most amazing person I have ever met,” said Scott about his late wife. The couple stuck together through thick and thin and were together for the long haul.
After spending ten years together, the couple finally decided to have a child. On June 22, 2022, they welcomed their first child together, Harlow. The couple was ecstatic at the idea of raising a child together.
But things quickly took a turn for the worse. On August 5, 2022, Shannon suffered a stroke. When Scott realized something was wrong, he immediately called emergency services.
Medical professionals at the hospital did their best to resuscitate her and performed tests to help treat her. Every passing minute was torture for Scott until he was told that Shannon had passed away.
Shannon was only 29 years old at the time of her death. She died believing she had much life left to live, leaving many goals unattainable.
Friends and family were shocked and devastated by the loss. The couple didn’t have much family in Australia, but shared their highs and lows with friends they had made over the years.
A friend of the couple, Daniel O’Hara, said: “It’s been extremely tough. We were so close to them, yet so far in Adelaide while they were on the Gold Coast.”
Her friends testified to her kind and generous nature. They shared with the world how even in her death, she helped five people by donating organs. Shannon’s heart went to someone who only had 24 hours to live.
Scott is still in disbelief over the loss of his wife. He cannot fathom the loss he has suffered. He had always envisioned raising their daughter together, Shannon and Scott side by side, but that will no longer be the case.
But he is grateful that she was around for a while, even though it didn’t last as long as they had hoped. “She made this world a much better place, and it comforts me to know how much positive impact she had on people’s lives from all corners of the world.”
Scott even wrote a heartfelt letter dedicated to his wife, expressing his happiness that she chose to spend her time on earth with him.
Scott’s friends have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for him, as he struggled to care for his daughter full-time and couldn’t work as a result. And while he figured out his next move, his friends wanted him to have the luxury of not worrying about money.
