Feline Fun: Woman Criticized for Tattooing Cat Proclaims Its Superior Life

The tattoo was placed on the top layer of skin, only 1 to 2 millimeters deep, so he didn’t feel any pain,” said her owner.

Living a lavish life in Ukraine, a Sphinx cat named Yasha enjoys fresh oysters and pampering from his owner, Elena Ivanickaya. Despite his luxurious lifestyle, what sets this cat apart on the internet is not his opulent living but a tattoo of an Egyptian God adorning his arm, capturing the global spotlight.

Initially deemed animal abuse, the feline’s tattoo sparked widespread outrage. Elena, a fitness enthusiast and social media influencer as reported by The Sun, faced criticism online after sharing a photo of Yasha flaunting a winged Anubis tattoo on his chest.

Labelled as “extreme abuse,” Elena was accused of being disturbed and urged to seek help for her actions towards her cat.

Back in 2017, Elena had encountered backlash when she posted images of her cat being tattooed, with the artist at work, according to The Sun.

Outraged internet users expressed their disapproval, with one stating, “It’s cruel to torture someone weaker than yourself; this is not a toy but a living being.” Another user, Inna Milovanova, suggested tattooing Elena’s forehead with the word ‘idiot’ and breaking her finger for mistreating the helpless kitten.

The largest animal rights group in Ukraine, UAnimals, condemned the tattoo, highlighting the distress Yasha endured during the procedure, calling it unbearable to witness.

Despite the backlash, Elena defended her actions, asserting that she had not harmed Yasha and stood by her decision.

“This cat’s life is better than yours. Maybe it’s a hell for you, but he feels really fine,” stated Elena, who boasts over 72,000 followers on Instagram.

Refuting claims of cruelty, Elena insisted that Yasha, not being neutered, was treated with love and care. She consulted a vet before the tattooing, ensuring proper supervision during the process.

Describing Yasha as intelligent and content, Elena emphasized that the tattoo was superficial, causing no pain. Post-procedure, the cat resumed his regular activities without any distress.
