Royal Heartbreak: Prince William and Kate Middleton Mourn the Loss of Beloved Dog Lupo

No matter who you are, losing a pet is extremely difficult. When we hear that even celebrities experience this loss, we empathize with their grief.

Recently, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared the heartbreaking news on social media about the passing of their pet, a dog within the British royal family.

The Duke of Cambridge revealed earlier this week via social media that their dog Lupo, an English cocker spaniel, had passed away.

“With heavy hearts we can announce that our dog Lupo has passed away,” they announced on Instagram. “He has been a cherished part of our family for nine years, and he will be deeply missed.”

In 2012, the couple welcomed Lupo into their home, a year before the birth of their first child, Prince George.

Their pet was adopted to keep Kate company during William’s six-week deployment in the British army.

“When Prince William was away on duty, he shared with some friends how challenging it was for Kate to be without him for six weeks,” a source revealed to Hello Magazine. “Bringing Lupo home was meant to provide her companionship during their time apart.”

Lupo quickly became a beloved member of the family. The dog even had a role in choosing the name for their child, as he supposedly indicated a note with the name George on it. This information was reported by Daily Star.

It’s evident that Lupo was adored by the entire family. Kate’s brother James Middleton paid tribute to the dog in his own way.

“The loss of a dog is a unique kind of grief that hits you unexpectedly,” he shared on Instagram. “For those who don’t have a dog, it might be hard to grasp. But for those who love their dogs, they understand: a dog is more than a pet, it’s a family member, a best friend, a loyal companion, a teacher, and a therapist.”

“Rest peacefully, Lupo,” he expressed. “You will always hold a special place in our hearts, and your memory will endure forever.”

Rest in peace, Lupo. You will forever be cherished as a loyal member of the royal family. Thank you for bringing joy to Kate, William, and their children.
