Dogs living on the streets are often desperate and almost ‘begging’ for help.
But the Scottish dog in the following incident didn’t let anyone come close. The animal was terrified and urgently needed medical help.
The puppy was found after a call from a concerned neighbor.
The dog was so scared that he couldn’t move, so he had to be sedated. He was then transferred to a Scottish animal organization for care.
Some tests were performed on the dog, named Ashton by the staff. Upon further examination, it was found that the dog had over 60 pellet wounds from an air rifle. Reported by Daily Record.
Ashton also had many pellets lodged in his flesh.
Claire Aiton, assistant manager at the center, testifies:
“Our people had the hardest time catching Ashton, he was very nervous.”
“When he first arrived, he was terrified and showed signs of stress,” he said, according to The Mirror.
We were shocked to see the pellet wounds all over his body and tail.
“After the pellets were removed and Ashton recovered from the surgery, he became happier.”
“Our team worked hard to bring Ashton out of his shell, and although he is still a bit nervous, things are getting better.”
Now, the recovering dog enjoys walks again and even lets the staff pet him.

“He is currently still recovering and not available for adoption,” she said.
“We would like to know what happened to Ashton. He may have been too close to farm animals, leading a farmer to shoot him.”
More information requested
According to the law, farmers are allowed to do this to protect their own animals, but the staff is not sure if that was the reason for Ashton’s wounds.
They are now asking for more information from the neighbors to find out what really happened.
Let’s hope that Ashton will soon be back to his old self and can find a warm home again.
