When we send our children to school, we expect them to be cared for by the adults there, whether in kindergarten, elementary, or high school.
It’s a given that teachers will do their best to nurture our children.
This was the belief of the parents of a 6-year-old boy attending kindergarten in Ohio, United States.
Regrettably, this turned out not to be the case.

One day, Ian was walking in the hallway after using the bathroom. Suddenly, he was stopped by a teacher, Barb Williams.
On the security camera footage in the hallway, it was seen how Williams grabbed the preschooler by the face and pushed him against the wall. Then she grabbed his shirt and lifted him up against the wall, reports Cleveland19 News.
Understandably, Ian’s parents reacted strongly to this incident.
Williams received a 10-day suspension without pay, and later returned to school. However, Ian’s parents, Anthony and Autumn Nelson, were dissatisfied with the school’s actions.

The couple was shocked at how lightly the teacher got off.
“I would wonder what would happen to me if I did that to a child,” said Anthony Nelson, Ian’s father. “If I did that to a child, I’d probably go to jail.”
Although the school initially downplayed the incident, Ian’s parents, upon viewing the footage, realized the severity of the situation.
Ian sustained bruises on his back from being slammed against the wall so forcefully, according to his parents.

Despite this, the principal was reluctant to dismiss Williams, viewing her as an outstanding teacher.
Following media coverage of the footage, Williams resigned and faced charges from the police. She accepted responsibility and was fined $250 plus court costs.
While justice was served with Williams’ guilty verdict, the school should have prioritized Ian’s well-being, involved the authorities, and terminated this abusive teacher. No child should fear going to school, and Williams must never be permitted to teach children again.

If my child experienced this, I would not be held responsible for my actions. I sincerely hope Williams is barred from working with children in the future. Share if you concur!
