While Zendaya has not issued a statement confirming her decision not to attend, her film Challengers was completely overlooked, so we can’t blame her for opting to watch from home in her pajamas. Zendaya not only wasn’t nominated in the Best Actress category, but the film didn’t even receive a nomination for Best Original Music, despite possibly having one of the best soundtracks ever (thanks to Trent Reznor).
And brace yourself for these shocking Oscar snubs, as Zendaya was nominated at the Golden Globes AND Challengers won the Best Music award. Did the Academy not even watch this film? Stop me!!!
No drama, just ‘The Drama’
ANYWAY, Zendaya’s other big film from last year, Dune: Part Two, was nominated for Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, and Best Picture, so that’s something. But considering how the film has fared this awards season, it’s highly unlikely they will take home the top prize of the evening.
As for what’s next for Zendaya – she stars in The Drama with Robert Pattinson, is working on the third season of Euphoria, and gearing up for the production of The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s new film. Oh, and she recently got engaged, so she’s probably busy planning her wedding with Tom Holland. In other words, she’s fully booked and busy.
