Billy had been battling leukemia for five years, enduring several hospital stays.
The prospect of welcoming a puppy into his life was the one bright spot that kept him going.
Returning home to a new furry companion after prolonged hospitalizations was all Billy yearned for.
“I’ve always wanted a dachshund because they look so lovable. Being small myself, it would be easy for me to care for him,” expressed Billy.
“The hospital can be boring, but buying toys and supplies for him keeps me happy. It makes the treatment more bearable.”
However, Billy’s dream hit a roadblock.

Once the family raised the funds to adopt the dog, the seller vanished into thin air.
The family had already paid a deposit for the dog.
Prior to this, they had come across a video featuring the dog.
“We tried to contact them, but received no response. I was furious because people had donated money,” expressed mother Lisa.
Fraud Reported
The family promptly reported the fraudulent incident to the authorities.
“Criminals seize any opportunity they can. They exploit the pandemic as an excuse to avoid showing the animal. If such a situation arises, insist on a video call to see the animal. Trust your instincts and never make any upfront payments,” advised a spokesperson from Action Fraud.
Fortunately, there is a silver lining – Billy now has a new puppy.
