On Wednesday evening, between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m., the attack occurred. Ashley Rodgers, the girl’s mother, had taken her 6-year-old to the bathroom.

Upon her return to the baby’s room, she was met with a horrific sight that left her in a state of panic.

‘She was on the floor – dragged across the ground – with blood on her face and pajamas,’ the mother recounted to the news channel.

“When I heard it over the phone, I thought it was a nightmare. My heart skipped a beat. I was at a loss for words, uncertain of what to say or think,” shared Father Samuel Black with Fox 29.

The mother recounted how the raccoon had pulled the girl from her bed and across the floor. Subsequently, she was rushed to the emergency room at St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia, where she received 65 stitches, according to the family.

Previous complaints had been made by other tenants in the building regarding raccoons causing disturbances. As per Fox 29, the building owner is heavily indebted to tax authorities and is unable to settle the dues. Furthermore, the owner lacks the necessary rental license for the apartments.
