Witnessing animal cruelty is unforgivable to any animal lover’s eyes.
It’s incomprehensible why someone would inflict so much suffering on a living being to the point of potential death.
Unfortunately, that’s precisely what happened to Kiryusha in the northern regions of Russia.
The unfortunate dog was buried alive and fought hard to escape until a compassionate animal lover came to the rescue.
Having pets, especially dogs, at home carries significant responsibilities that include providing food, care, and love. These are essential elements that require proper handling to ensure the well-being of the animal.
If unable to meet these needs, it’s better for the pet to find a new, caring family.
That’s exactly what Kiryusha sought – a new loving home.
His owner no longer wanted him, unwilling to care for the beautiful canine any longer.
For us animal lovers, the obvious choice would have been for the owner to rehome Kiryusha with a shelter or a new family.
However, that was not the owner’s intention.
Dog’s Harrowing Ordeal
As reported by The Mirror, Kiryusha’s owners cruelly attempted to end his life by injecting a lethal toxin into his body before burying him in the forest.
Thinking he was dead, they left him buried, but Kiryusha valiantly fought for survival.
Through sheer determination, the dog managed to claw his way out of the grave, eventually reaching the roadside with slow but steady steps.
Luck was truly on his side that day.
Discovery by Good Samaritan
When Kiryusha was discovered by a woman on the roadside, he was severely weakened and traumatized, urgently needing assistance. Fortunately, the woman came to his aid, bringing him into her car and offering him food.
Sitting in the back seat, Kiryusha was shivering from the cold, completely exhausted. He fell asleep on the way to his newfound place of care.
Owner’s Apology
After being traced, Kiryusha’s owners confessed to attempting to poison the dog with a deadly toxin when he was “unwell.”
They expressed remorse for their actions of trying to bury the dog alive, as detailed by The Mirror.
However, their claims were proven to be false.
Veterinarians examined Kiryusha and found no underlying health issues. Currently, the resilient dog is recuperating at an animal shelter.
Such cruelty is beyond comprehension. It’s a relief that Kiryusha was discovered; otherwise, the outcome could have been tragic!
