Instances of severe bullying are becoming more prevalent. It appears that each day brings a new account of a young individual enduring such extreme bullying that they contemplate the unthinkable. This reality is distressing and disheartening for anyone subjected to it.
The occurrence of such events, with parents and educators occasionally remaining passive spectators, is unfathomable. It is crucial for adults to address these issues seriously.
More than 20% of students in the United States report being victims of bullying annually. This figure, while an approximation, may be even higher, and this problem is widespread globally. Every student facing bullying is one too many.
Furthermore, when parents intervene, it is often the bullied child who ends up getting hurt.
Last September, Leigh Davey took to Facebook to share her daughter’s ordeal.
With immense sadness and bravery, she decided to disclose the harrowing experiences her daughter had been subjected to.

“Our lovely daughter fell victim to some cruel bullies at school. The past 7 months have been incredibly challenging for our family in dealing with this.
In this era of social media, kids feel empowered to spew hate messages (while their parents indirectly enable this behavior by remaining inactive), escaping any consequences for their actions.
I have received harassing calls from kids labeling me as an ‘old whore’ simply because I defend my daughter. I reached out to parents, imploring them to address their children’s behavior and put a stop to it.
I even attempted to reason with the kids but was met with threats from their parents!”
