Tragic Loss: Young Wife and Baby Die in Accident – Her Warning to Others

Kristian had a crush on Fabian from the first moment they laid eyes on each other. Fabian, the handsome star of the school soccer team, captured her heart.

They eventually started dating three years later and evolved into a wonderful couple eagerly anticipating a lifetime together.

Their marriage on November 14, 2015, marked a new chapter. While Fabian supported Kristian as she pursued her cosmetic diploma, they were joyfully surprised to learn of Kristian’s pregnancy two months into her studies. Despite the unplanned nature of the news, they were elated about the upcoming arrival around New Year’s Eve 2016.

After an ultrasound on August 1, 2016, Kristian and Fabian decided to delay discovering the baby’s gender by a week to unveil it during a gathering with loved ones, according to The Adviser.

Tragically, the gender-reveal party scheduled for August 8, 2016, never came to fruition.

On August 2, while returning home in Texas after celebrating Fabian’s new citizenship with his family, tragedy struck. Kristian, behind the wheel, faced a harrowing moment when another vehicle driven by 21-year-old Shana Elliot veered into their path. Despite Kristian’s efforts to evade the collision, darkness quickly enveloped her world. Elliot had been drinking before driving.

The collision claimed Fabian’s life on the spot, leaving Kristian critically injured. Tragically, their unborn baby’s fragile heartbeat ceased upon arrival at the hospital due to the impact of the crash. Kristian had to bid a heart-wrenching farewell to her stillborn son within moments.

In a somber reflection, Kristian expressed her anguish and a crucial message on her Facebook post, urging people to reconsider the dangers of drunk driving:

“This is me, finally holding my son. This is what it looks like after an induced delivery, nearly 24 hours after surviving a car accident where my husband and son died. It’s not okay. It IS okay to take someone’s keys away when they’ve been drinking. And it is ALSO okay to ask for a ride if you’ve had a bit too much. It is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of being responsible for yourself, but especially for others. The consequences of drunk driving are much heavier than feeling ashamed to admit you’re too drunk to drive.

What is NOT okay is having to live with the guilt for the rest of your life that you took someone else’s life, before they even had a chance to be born. It’s not worth it. Do not drive a car when you’ve been drinking. Don’t risk your freedom. You’re not only putting your own life at risk, but everyone on the road. I could have been killed on August 2, but God had other plans. I am left alone, and will fight for my deceased son and husband. And I will continue to spread awareness on this topic, until the day I die.

I refuse to accept that the death of my husband and son has been in vain.”
