The coronavirus pandemic has the world in its grip. Over 900,000 people have died worldwide from COVID-19.
South America is especially hard hit. As of the writing of this article, 31,369 people have died in Peru after contracting the virus.
One of these people was Chester’s owner, a sweet four-legged friend.
The dog’s owner worked as a market trader and often brought his dog to work. But the customers who used to visit the man’s market stall now only see his dog. He looked very sad.
The man’s fellow market traders decided that they needed to do something for his faithful four-legged friend, who is now completely abandoned. In the worst case, he could end up on the street, sad and hopeless.
But everyone was determined to find a new family for the dog.
They wrote a note and attached it to the dog’s collar, waiting for someone to read it. According to Mirror,
The emotional words on the note touched all animal lovers right in the heart.
Here’s what was on the note:
“Hi, my name is Chester. Please help me. My owner died due to COVID-19 and I have nowhere to go, please don’t ignore me.”
Chester’s guardian angel was quickly found. Nataly Oblitas sells pet food in the market for an organization called Huellitas Felices Peru.
She took the dog to the vet and posted some ads on social media where thousands of animal lovers could follow Chester’s story.
It didn’t take more than a day for Chester to find a new home.
He will carry the heart of his deceased owner in his heart forever, but will avoid a life on the street.
