Purr-fectly Captured: Photographer Robert’s Unique Feline Portraits Will Amaze You

Just like us, animals have all sorts of personalities. But how can we gain better insight into their personalities?

Well, photographer Robert Bahou decided to capture that on camera through a project called “The Soul of Animals.”

The result? Absolutely magical.

Looking at cats, dogs, or other animals is enjoyable. When you look at your cat, you just see that they have their own personality. But when you show a picture of your cat to your friends, they just see “a cat,” right?

This is exactly what photographer Robert Bahou wanted to explore and clarify. How we view animals, and more specifically, in their eyes, can tell a lot about them.

Robert Bahou has always been interested in exploring and capturing the personalities of animals and what goes on in their heads.

As a photographer, he wanted to capture this as best as possible.

“The idea behind this project was to take close-ups and portraits of animals we are most familiar with, in an attempt to better understand them,” Robert tells My Modern Met.

Robert’s project is not aimed at describing animals as funny or comedic.

He simply wants to capture an “intimate moment of their personalities.”

“Seeing animals in a different way”

It was Robert’s fascination and love for animals and their behavior that led to this project.

With his cameras, he captured dogs, cats, and horses. And the photos are impressive.

“I want people to look at animals in a way they normally don’t. I want to prove that people will look at animals differently, in a way they have never done before,” says Robert.

The project was called “Animal Soul.” Thanks to a fundraising campaign, a book of the photos was made.
