After nearly two years since Benjamin Keough’s passing, Lisa Marie Presley reflects on the profound grief she has experienced following the tragedy.
“Navigating through this devastating grief that has completely consumed and shattered my heart and soul has engulfed me entirely,” she recently shared on Instagram.
Presley expressed her emotions about her grief alongside a mention of the upcoming movie, Elvis.
Benjamin, the grandson of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, tragically passed away at his California residence in July 2020, with reports confirming his death by suicide at the age of 27.
At the time of his passing, Presley was inconsolable.
“She’s utterly shattered, inconsolable, and devastated beyond words, but she’s striving to remain strong for her 11-year-old twins and her eldest daughter, Riley. She cherished that boy. He was the light of her life,” her spokesperson disclosed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Since the tragedy, Presley has kept relatively private about Benjamin and the impact of his loss on herself and her other three children.

On what would have been Benjamin’s 28th birthday in October 2020, Presley decided to speak out and honor her son with a photo and a heartfelt message.
“My beautiful beautiful angel, I adored every step you took on this earth and now in heaven,” she expressed. “My heart and soul departed with you.
“The agony is all-consuming and endless every moment of every day without you.”
Now, approaching two years since her son’s passing, Presley is speaking out once again about her grief. This time, she also shared her thoughts on Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming movie, Elvis.
‘Absolutely spectacular’
She mentioned that she has had the opportunity to watch the film, premiering on June 24, twice and considers it “absolutely spectacular.”
She commended Austin Butler for his “precise and respectful” portrayal of her father in the movie, which she believes deserves an Oscar.
While enjoying the film, she revealed that one of the most touching moments may have occurred after the screening.
“What also moved me to tears was seeing Riley, Harper and Finley, all 3 visibly overwhelmed and so proud of their grandfather and his legacy, in a way I have never seen before.”
“It’s heartbreaking that my son isn’t here to witness it. He would have adored it too,” she added.
