Obesity is a growing problem in the world, especially in the United States.
34-year-old Nikki Webster from Tennessee gained so much weight that she could hardly stand or wash herself. She was trapped in her own body and weighed a staggering 294 kg, at her heaviest.
TV station TLC made a documentary about her life in late 2015.
Now, a year and a half later, her transformation inspires people all over the world.

Nikki confessed to TLC that she was addicted to food.

“My weight is crippling. My body is so painful, I hate it. But I tell myself this. Eating is an addiction and my addiction is killing me,” she says.

Nikki made her story public for the first time on TLC’s “My 600-lb Life”, where it was revealed she weighed 294 kg.
During filming, Nikki moved from Little Rock, Arkansas to Texas and received help from weight-loss specialist surgeon Dr. Nowzaradan, or “Dr. Now,” as he is also called.
Nikki’s stomach surgery went well, and in her first year she lost 93 kg. She started working out at the gym with the help of a personal trainer, did therapy to process her thoughts and feelings, and gain insight into the cause of her addiction.
But it was far from easy. During her treatment, Nikki faced a tragedy. Her best friend Michael also underwent stomach surgery, but he did not survive.
Michael’s death was very difficult for Nikki, and she struggled to cope with that loss. But then Dr. Now told her that he could surgically remove her excess abdominal tissue if she lost more weight.
When Nikki slimmed down to 158 kg, Dr. Now decided it was time for the operation. Nearly 25 kg of skin was removed from her stomach.
However, the surgery resulted in internal bleeding, and Nikki was forced to go back to the operating room. Fortunately, the surgery was successful, and Nikki could finally go home.
After just over 2 years, Nikki lost an overwhelming 206 kg and had 25 kg of skin removed from her body. It changed her life completely.
Not long ago, Nikki bought her first pair of jeans ever and started cycling, the first time in many years. And she also started dating, writes the Daily Mail.

Nikki now weighs 88 kg and leads an active life, which she shares with thousands of inspired followers on her Facebook page.
