During his journey home, a man stumbled upon an abandoned suitcase.
What caught his attention were the peculiar sounds emanating from within the suitcase.
Driven by curiosity, he decided to open it and peek inside.
To his astonishment, he came face to face with a small, forsaken poodle.
I came across this incident that occurred in Vancouver, Canada, and couldn’t help but ponder how someone could commit such an act against a defenseless creature like this small dog.
According to a report by USA Today, the man was alerted by faint sounds coming from the abandoned suitcase, prompting him to investigate.
What he uncovered left him in disbelief.
“Upon opening the suitcase… he found a dog trapped inside,” shared Eyal Lichtmann, an animal shelter employee, with USA Today. The poodle had endured distress but was otherwise in good condition. Lichtmann mentioned, “The man who rescued the poodle brought him home, cared for him, and provided nourishment.”
Subsequently, the man brought the poodle to an animal shelter to receive necessary care.
“Fortunate was the poodle’s rescue,” conveyed Eyal Lichtmann to USA Today, expressing his dismay, “It is truly an appalling act to subject such a delightful poodle to such cruelty. This dog is known to be the most amiable in the world.”
The poodle, affectionately named Donut, is now safe, healthy, and exuberant.
Authorities are treating the incident as an case of animal cruelty, although no suspects have been identified as of yet.
The animal shelter is dedicated to finding a caring forever home for Donut.
